Saturday, September 12th Schedule

 8 am – 4 pm – Kelly Thronson Annual Backyard BBQ Rib & Tenderloin Cook-off Contest (Information at ktmbbq.com) (participation fee) Fundraiser.  Camping available at NC Fairgrounds.  Email ktmbbq@gmail.com

 9 -11 am – “You Pick Event” – pick you own flowers at Blyss Flower Farm (2297 240th Ave, Ada)

 9 am – 2 pm – 4-H Food Stand open with rolls & coffee & lunch in 4-H Building (fundraiser for Norman County 4-H)

 9 am - Registration at 4-H Building for 4-H Achievement Day Fall Produce Exhibits. Judging at 9:30.

 9 am - 3 pm – Craft Sale in the 4-H Building and in front of the Coliseum. To reserve a space call Lee Ann at 218-784-8069

10:30 – 1:30 pm—Bubbles. Stations with giant bubbles bubble wands...lots of bubbles! In front of Coliseum (sponsored by Ada Chamber & Ada Girl Scouts)

10:30 am – 1:30 pm – Glass Bead Blowing Demonstration & Hands on with artist Jodi Peterson! (4-H bldg.) With guidance from our artist, you can do it!  Event & projects are FREE* see below

10:30 am – 1:30 pm – Girl Scouts selling Root Beer & Orange Floats served in front of Coliseum (Fundraiser for Girl Scouts)

11 am - Bean Bag Tournament starts. (Registration in Rib fest area at 10:30 am) $20 team, 100% payout.

11 am - 1 pm – Face Painting (in front of Coliseum) Sponsored by City of Ada & Ada Chamber of Commerce

11 am—2 pm—Ethnic Food Court, Music by Sandhill Harmony, Wood Carving Demonstrations by Red River Wood Carvers Club, Arnie Aalgard photo archives shown on the big screen & Silent Auction, all in the Coliseum. 

 *Food Court with potato dumplings, homemade chicken noodle soup, rommegrot, flat bread, lefse, apple crisp, homemade ice cream, popcorn balls, sausage and kraut, homemade bread and jelly, water & coffee!   (Fundraiser sponsored by the Norman County Historical Society. Tickets sold at the door. Cash only.  *Silent Auction with Vintage Farm Collectible Toys.  Ends at 2 pm.

11 am – 2 pm – Watercolor & Pencil Art Pioneer Themed Greeting Cards making and demonstration with Candace Osborn! (4-H bldg) With guidance from our artist, make your own greeting card to keep!  Event & projects are FREE* see below

11 am – 3 pm – Soybean/Corn Sand Box in front of Coliseum (Sponsored by Soybean & Corn Growers Assn).

11:30 pm – 3 pm – 4-H Achievement Day Fall Produce Displays in the 4-H Building

12 – 3 pm –Free Art Project featuring” Magnetic Minnesota” with artist Sheila Capistran 4-H Building (Magnetic wooden art project with a Minnesota theme.  Event & projects are *FREE* see below

11:30 pm – 1:30 pm – “Get Green” Fun. Activities for Kids sponsored by Norman County 4-H (in front of Coliseum)

1 pm – Rib Fest People’s Choice Tasting event—The competition starts!  All Welcome!  $5 wristband. Purchase in Rib Fest area  

 1:30 pm—2:30 pm - Giant Bubble Bath Foam Party.  Sponsored by Tri-Valley Ada Head Start, City of Ada and Ada Chamber of Commerce 

 3 pm – Judging of Pork Tenderloin entries & 4 pm – Judging of Rib entries  for the BBQ Competition

 5:15 pm – Awards Presentation for BBQ Cook-off & People’s Choice

 6:00 pm – H.O.V. Golf Course Patio Party starts with Live Music with Jimmy Wurst. Everyone welcome!   

Sunday, September 13th Schedule

1-4  pm – and 5-7 pm – Inflatables at the Dekko Center Pool,  $2 child $5 adult

  * These events are free thanks to Northwest Minnesota Arts Council.  They awarded an Arts Grant to the Ada Chamber of Commerce which allows us to hold these events free of charge.  In November 2008, Minnesotans passed the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment to the Minnesota Constitution.  It provided dedicated funding for the arts and cultural heritage in our state for 25 years.   The grant pays 75% and the Ada Chamber of Commerce pays 25%.

6th Grade Coupon Book Promotion.  This is a win win project for local businesses and the Ada-Borup 6th Grade Class. We team up with KRJB for this promotion.   The Chamber has a coupon in the book for $25 in Chamber Bucks. 

 

Fun in the Flatlands/Pioneer Days/Kelly Thronson Memorial Backyard BBQ – Sat., Sept. 12, 2026

It is a fun weekend offering something for everyone!   We team up with the Norman County Historical Society and the Kelly Thronson Backyard BBQ committee for a great community festival!

 

 "Old Fashioned Family Christmas Festival”   - Sat., Dec. 5, 2026

This fun weekend festival is held the first weekend in December. We hold a variety of events for all ages to build memories of growing up and living in Ada. Events included a visit from Santa Claus Santa, craft sale, Old-Time Snowmobile Show & more!

Night to Unite – Tues, July 27, 2027

We team up with law enforcement, the fire department, emergency personnel and others for a night out against crime. The evening includes a great fundraiser meal, demonstrations, important public safety information and more!  The event is held at the Norman County Fairgrounds from 5:30-8 pm.
